For the third time this season the Kelowna Rockets were unable to hold onto a third period lead.

The hometown Edmonton Oil Kings scored three unanswered goals in the third period to erase a 3-2 deficit and beat the Rockets 5-3.

Klarc Wilson tied the game 3-3 five minutes into the third just four minutes before Dylan Wruck scored what proved to be the game winner.

Henrik Samuelsson salted the game away with his second of the night into an empty net in the dying seconds.

Michael St. Croix scored the other Edmonton goal.

Dylen McKinlay, Zach Franko and Tyson Baillie scored for the Rockets who led 2-1 and 3-2 by periods.

Jesse Lees picked up a pair of assists.

The Oil Kings outshot the Rockets 43-27 over the course of the contest.

The Rockets, 1-1-0-1 on their current four game road trip conclude their Alberta odyssey Sunday afternoon in Calgary.

Kelowna returns home to host the unbeaten Kamloops Blazers (14-0-0-1) Thursday. The Blazers have won 12 in a row following a 5-2 win over Victoria Saturday.
