Colton Sissons scored twice, leading the Kelowna Rockets to a 3-1 victory over the Red Deer Rebels Friday night.

The win improves the Rockets record to 1-0-0-1 on their four game Alberta road trip.

Sissons snapped a 1-1 tie with an unassisted goal midway through the second period.

He would add an insurance marker five minutes later.

The goals were the seventh and eighth of the season for the Rockets captain who, a day earlier, was named to the WHL squad that will take on Russia during the Subway Super Series.

Ryan Olsen, back after serving a three game suspension, also scored for the Rockets on a first period power-play.

Myles Bell picked up a pair of assists giving him a club leading 23 points.

Matt Dumba opened the scoring for the Rebels.

Jackson Whistle turned aside 30 shots in picking up his second win in just his second start of the season.

The Rockets four game road trip continues with games Saturday in Edmonton and Sunday in Calgary.
