The former deputy commander of a Victoria-based military cadet corps has been found guilty of four charges involving two teenaged cadets.

A court martial at CFB Esquimalt has convicted Captain Daniel Moriarity of sexual exploitation, sexual interference, sexual assault and behaving in a disgraceful manner.

The charges involved two cadets, a 16 year old girl and a boy who was 15 when the assaults began.

The court martial was told the attacks happened between 2008 and 2011, at the Vernon Army Cadet Summer Training Centre in the North Okanagan and at the Lt.-Gen. Ashton Armoury in Victoria.

At the time of his arrest, Moriarity was deputy commanding officer of the Victoria Signals Army Cadet Corps 3005.

Sentencing is expected to begin in Esquimalt on Oct. 31.
