The Kelowna Chiefs have added a forward in exchange for a defenceman after a multi-team trade.

The Chiefs have sent veteran defenceman Tre Mason to the North Okanagan Knights. The 18-year old played 10 games with the Chiefs this season and tallied 3 assists. Last season, Mason had 1 goal and 6 assists in his rookie KIJHL season.

In return, the Chiefs acquired Nicholas Josephs from the Okotoks Oilers of the AJHL.

Josephs, a 17 year old forward from Calgary, has 1 goal in five games this season for the Oilers.

Meanwhile, rookie forward Quade Hamlin has had to return to Texas after injuring his shoulder and requiring surgery.

The Chiefs will play host to the Penticton Lakers Saturday night at Rutland Arena. For more information or for tickets visit their website.
