Letters to the editor

Frustrated at being forced out

To the editor:

Being a law abiding citizen I did remove my boat from Sutherland back in 2007.

I did not moor my sailboat again in the bay until July of 2011 for three months and then again for five weeks in the summer of 2012.

It was then I received a phone call and a notice on my boat to remove it in five days or the city will remove it at my own expense.

What I really find ironic is that the City of Kelowna is using my moorage buoy to moor a sailboat that drifted into Sutherland Bay last January, and which is now sunk with just the mast sticking out.

Also that the city has now given permission to the new owners of the Fintry Queen to tie up in the bay.

I’ve had my 21 foot sail boat moored in Sutherland Bay since I bought her back in 1987.

Life is funny isn’t it?
