Letters to the editor
Is pink the way to go? |

To the editor:
Please don't take the following statements in the wrong context. My mother recently died of cancer.
I think cancer has touched everyone in this country in some way, shape or form. We don't need to be reminded about it by seeing pink shirts.
We need a cure.
And when you see the stickers, shirts, hats, shoes, tape, arm bands, even referee whistles that are pink, I think all that money would have been better spent being put towards a cure instead.
Please donate towards research.
I appreciate the attempts to raise money for cancer research but to only spend it on t-shirts as opposed to the research, I think is not the best way to spend that money.
I bet the CFL and NFL alone spent over a million dollars to buy pink products. Even if those products were donated some one had to pay for it.
Pink shirts do not make we want to donate. The fact that cancer has touched my family does! It has touched us all.
Please donate regardless of your thoughts of my article.
I'm only saying spend wisely.
