Vernon and North Okanagan
2K blowing in the wind
Thanks to the honesty of a Good Samaritan, a Vernon business is not out a few thousand dollars.
On Tuesday of this week, a woman who lives outside the Vernon area discovered a large sum of cash in the parking lot of a local business.
The wind was apparently blowing the money around the parking lot and the woman told police she 'did her best to pick it all up.'
RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk says the woman had to go to work and left a message with the business and contacted police.
"It turns out the money had been dropped without being initially noticed by the owner of the business," says Molendyk.
"The cash, in excess of $2,000 has been returned to the businesses owners."
Needless to say the owners are very grateful for the woman's honesty.
