With Halloween just around the corner there’s no shortage of activities to keep you busy, but have you ever considered a play reading?   Sure it’s no scary movie or costume party but it might be right up your ‘haunted’ alley (insert extremely long evil laugh here).

On Tuesday October 30th Kelowna’s new Vintage Theatre Company is hosting just that, a Halloween play reading of Bonnie Gratz’s adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe’s classic The Cask of The Amontillado.

“It is a classic horror tale with a twist, set in the underbelly of Venice, Italy during Carnival. It is a tasty theatrical trick or treat evening for those who love a good scare,” says Gratz.

Those attending are encouraged to bring a mask along with their favourite terrifying book from home, whether it is a Stephen King classic or a dreaded High School Math textbook (insert the evil laugh once again!).

This relaxed, fun event has no admission but the cost of a delicious drink or treat from the New Vintage’s host and Arts Partner, Pulp Fiction Coffeehouse.

Once more the New Vintage play reading will be held on Tuesday, October 30th at 7pm. Admission is free, but those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to info@NewVintage.ca as space is limited.

Pulp Fiction Coffeehouse can be found at 1598 Pandosy Street (the corner of Lawrence & Pandosy) in Kelowna. They encourage people to check out their full line up of play readings and other offerings at their website www.NewVintage.ca

Why not try something different this Halloween with family and friends and escape from your comfort zone and have a really good scare at your first ever Halloween play reading (evil laugh one more time)!
