Hot tub theft machine
At about 5:30 this morning the Vernon RCMP were called to a report of a possible theft in progress from a business, in the 2900 41st Avenue.
A concerned citizen said they noticed approximately six people loading a hot tub from the yard of the business into a pickup truck that was parked outside the yard on 31st Street. Police attended, and located two people in the truck.
Three people were also arrested in a shed at the back of the property. In all five people were arrested for, Theft over $5000, and possession of stolen property. Three men and two women all from the Vernon area, between the ages of twenty to forty years of age are expected to face charges at a later date as the investigation is still continuing.
There had been two previous unsuccessful attempts to remove a hot tub from the business since the first of October.
The Vernon RCMP wants to thank the observant citizen who promptly called the police when they noticed the suspicious activity taking place in the area. Police ask all residents to report any suspicious activity you see take place in the area you live or work in.
