Fleetwood Mac is coming back

Fleetwood Mac will embark on their reunion tour in April 2013.

The 'Rumours' hitmakers - featuring Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks - are planning to begin rehearsals for their first live shows since 2009 in February, and will go out on the road a few months later.

Speaking to ABC News Radio, Stevie said: "We go into rehearsals somewhere around the end of February. So... if everything goes to plan, we should probably be out [on the road] by end of April [or] May, I would think."

Though the group haven't begun officially working together again yet, Stevie also hinted new songs could be on the way.

She said: "Well, actually, maybe like two songs, maybe four, who knows? We don't really know yet 'cos we're not in the world of Fleetwood Mac yet. We're just still in talks about that."

The group - who went their separate ways to focus on solo projects and other commitments - are one of a number of acts in the frame to headline the famous Glastonbury music festival.

Organiser Emily Eavis has said: "I think Fleetwood Mac would be amazing to get, I'll be totally honest we haven't had any conversations with them yet but, you know, it is still early days. We're just talking to some headliners now. For us it's about getting the balance of heritage bands, legends and new bands - just keeping that balance."
