The UBC-Okanagan Heat women's soccer team picked up their fourth win in a row with a 2-0 victory over the Langara Falcons Saturday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, Vernon's Michelle Smith opened the scoring for the Heat 15 minutes into the second, then Lindsey Briggs followed with her fourth of the season shortly after.

“We managed to sort it out in the second half and play more composed,” says Heat Head Coach Claire Paterson.

With the win, the Heat improve to 5W-1L-5T in league play, pushing them into a tie for second place with Quest in the PACWEST standings.

Those two teams meet on Sunday in Kelowna, starting at noon.

In a must win situation for the men, the Heat came out creating a lot of scoring chances early in their match with the visiting Falcons.

However, they were kept off the score sheet all day, eventually dropping a 2-0 decision to Langara at the Nonis Sports Field.

"We had our chances in the first half and early in the second half," says Head head coach Dante Zanatta. "We played a lot better...but we just couldn't finish."

The Heat’s record now stands at 0W-7L-4T in league play. The Falcons improve o 6W-4L-1T.

The Heat men will take to the pitch on Sunday when they host Quest University starting at 2:00 p.m.
