Worried about higher taxes

To the editor:

I read that BC's NDP leader Mr. Dix has already decided if he were Premier, he would repeal the balanced budget law that is currently in place.

I find this very scary, given the past record of the NDP. Obviously, they are more then willing to put us back into a ''have not province'' status which means our triple A credit rating will be lost and all of us tax payers will be on the hook for a debt interest repayment that will be higher than needs to be.

Now, once this takes hold one does not have to be a scholar to realize what happens next. The public unions will all ask for, and no doubt receive, higher wages to compensate for the repayment.

Then, without a doubt, all provincial taxes will have to be increased. Now take into account that Mr. Dix has already stated if he is voted in as our next Premier he is going to raise taxes on businesses.

This whole scenario is a recipe for disaster. These are the types of polices that the Europeans have encountered for years and years and look at the crisis they face today.

If you do not belong to a union, look-out. The Liberals are far from perfect but last time I looked we don't live in a perfect world.

The writing is on the wall. The choice is ours. Thanks for allowing me to air my views.
