Update: Hwy 97A re-opens

UPDATE: Highway 97A re-opened near Mara at about 5:30 Wednesday.

Highway 97A is closed in both directions near the North Okanagan community of Mara.

The highway was closed shortly before 3 p.m. due to downed hydro lines.

DriveBC estimates the highway will be re-opened at about 7 p.m.

Detours have been established via Rivershore Drive.
