Ten years ago the first production to grace the Kelowna Actors Studio stage at 1379 Ellis street was Barefoot in the Park, now it will be their first main stage production to kick off their 10th anniversary season when it opens tonight.  Neil Simon's longest-running hit, and the tenth longest-running play in Broadway history can be seen at The Kelowna Actors Studio from tonight through to October 27th.

Barefoot in the Park is about those delicious, delirious and dicey first days of marriage. It's 1964, and newlyweds Paul and Corie are just starting their life together in a tiny, fifth floor Manhattan walkup. He's a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she's a free spirit always looking for the latest kick.

On moving into their new apartment, the newlyweds are invaded by Corie's interfering, loopy mother and they decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their aging lothario neighbor-in-the-attic.

After a series of hilarious misunderstandings, Paul must figure out how to connect with Corie, who just wants him to be a little more spontaneous ...and running "barefoot in the park" would be a great start.
