The southeast corner of Manitoba and areas across the border in northwestern Ontario will get an early blast of winter weather today.
Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the region, with some areas of Manitoba expected to receive 10-to-20 centimetres of snow.
The storm moving in from northern Minnesota is being pushed by strong winds with gusts expected to increase through the day to about 70 kilometres an hour.
Some areas in the warning zone will get rain, but it is expected to change to snow this morning and continue all day.
Environment Canada cautions that travel will become increasingly treacherous as the day progresses.
