Penticton RCMP are looking for a man suspected of assaulting and robbing a Penticton woman early Sunday morning.
At about 1:15 a.m., police say a tanned Caucasian man attacked a 24-year-old woman near the Japanese Gardens in Penticton. The woman was taking a walk following a night at a local bar.
“The victim received cuts from a knife and her dress was torn during the altercation,” said RCMP Sgt. Rick Dellebuur.
The man, described as approximately 35 years old, five-feet, ten-inches tall, with short brown hair and wearing a long-sleeve dark blue shirt, ran from the area after stealing the woman’s money.
Police ask anyone with information to call Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
“Police are reminding people to be cautious if they go for a late-night walk alone and to be aware of their surroundings,” Dellebuur added.
