7.1 earthquake strikes Colombia

Colombian authorities say there are no immediate reports of injuries or damage from an earthquake centred deep underground in the country's southwest whose magnitude the U.S. Geological Survey placed at 7.1.
The USGS says the quake struck at 11:31 a.m. local time on Sunday 48 kilometres from the regional capital of Popayan. It says it was centred at a depth of 150 kilometres.
National disaster director Carlos Ivan Marquez says there are no immediate reports of injuries or damage. The regional emergency director, Isabel Hernandez, also reports no damage.
