After opening the Kootenay International Hockey League season with a pair of wins, the Kelowna Chiefs fell to 2-2 on the young season after suffering a pair of losses this weekend.

Friday night the Chiefs fell 5-3 to the Posse in Princeton.

Brady Mende and Alex Fortin led the Kelowna attack with a goal and an assist each, while Brady Mende and Bryce Koch added singles of their own.

Kyle Clerke and Tre Mason each had two assists.

Rookie goaltender Kenny Fitzgerald took the loss.

Then on Saturday, they were defeated on home ice 3–2 by Columbia Valley.

Brendan Jost and Jordan Salahor put the Chiefs up early with a pair of first period goals. Kyle Clerke, PJ Lawler, and Scott Renner added the assists.

However, Kelowna couldn’t maintain the lead, and despite out shooting the visitors 48-27, Columbia Valley would beat Chiefs goalie Tyler O'Donnell three times to steal the victory.

The Chiefs have five days to prepare for another busy weekend, with three games on tap.

They open on the road in Revelstoke Friday September 28, then return home for a pair of games.

On Saturday they host Penticton Lakers and then welcome the Summerland Steam to Rutland Arena on Sunday September 30.
