Tim Hortons is bringing more smiles to Central Okanagan Food Banks with the annual Smile Cookie fundraiser now underway.

Until September 23, Tim Hortons restaurant owners in the Central Okanagan will donate all proceeds from sales of a special smiling chocolate chunk cookie to Kelowna, Westside, and Lake Country Food Banks.

“On behalf of all restaurant owners and team members in the Central Okanagan, I would like to thank our loyal guests for their generosity and support of the Smile Cookie campaign,” says Barb Becker, Tim Hortons Restaurant Owner in Kelowna.

“Tim Hortons is thrilled to support the Central Okanagan Food Banks with the funds raised and bring smiles to so many children’s faces. We welcome everyone to come in this week to buy a delicious freshly-baked Smile Cookie in support of a great cause.”

The $1 treat will help charities across Canada during the week long campaign.

“We are delighted that Tim Hortons has chosen us to be the beneficiary of the Smile Cookie Campaign. All funds raised will help sustain and grow our children’s programs,” says Lenetta Parry, Associate Executive Director for the Kelowna Food Bank.

“Our Tiny Bundles program specifically supports pregnant mothers and families with babies under the age of one. Our Kids Vitality program ensures that essential nutrients are provided to families that have children under the age of 15 and our Kids Snack Pack program provides children with a one week supply of ready to eat nutritious snacks.”

Parry adds that people love the Smile Cookie Campaign because “they know it’s a tasty way to help local Food Banks.”
