A Kelowna dentist has travelled back to Ireland to find a girl he met for two minutes last summer.
Sandy Crocker, 34, was eating breakfast with his brother in a cafe in Ennistymon, an Irish tourist town, in July 2011. That’s where a “striking” lady at another table caught his eye, reports The Irish Sun.
He didn’t want to interrupt her eating so he waited until she was leaving to ask her for directions. Crocker told the newspaper he was leaving Ireland the next day so he didn’t think of pursuing the mystery woman – until he got home and couldn’t get her out of his mind.
“My breath was taken away to the point of near suffocation. … She was gentle, graceful, the kind of girl who would enter a shoe store and leave with brown boots, [whose] mother probably thought blue glass was pretty and still collectible,” he wrote on his Plenty of Fish profile where he can be found by searching "Travel-bug-4u."
Crocker describes the dream woman as in her mid to late 20s with freckles and reddish-brown hair. He admits it’s a “shot in the dark” and that the odds she might be married are 50/50.
U.K. bookmaker Ladbrokes, Ireland has longer odds, reports the National Post. It’s assigned 4/5 odds that the woman is already married and 50/1 odds on Crocker actually marrying her. But they’re not cynics. They’re offering 10/1 odds that Crocker meets his future wife in Ireland.
Crocker, who is originally from P.E.I., graduated from Dalhousie University in 2005. He currently works at Creekside Dental Clinic in Kelowna, where his online bio says he plays for the Kelowna Crows rugby team.
Crocker is in County Clare this week, where he first spotted the woman, and then plans to go to Cork and Belfast, said the Irish Independent.
