Pro life flag to fly
The pro life flag will be raised in Kelowna during Protect Human Life Week, just not at City Hall.
According to Marlon Bartram of Kelowna Right to Life, the flag will be flown from September 24 - 30 at 4 different schools:
- Immaculata High
- St. Joseph’s Elementary
- Heritage Christian School
- Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary.
The flag will also be flown at the Walk for Life, Kelowna Right to Life's opening event on September 22 at 1:30 p.m. in Mission Creek Park.
Bertram says the society has received several emails threatening to burn or destroy the flag if it was flown over City Hall.
"(Because of the threats) all locations will have 24 hour video surveillance of the grounds surrounding their flag poles."
