Vernon
Let it snow, let it snow, let it . . .
Silver Star Mountain Resort has been blanketed by the first snowfall of the 2012-13 winter season.
Snowflakes starting drifting down early on Monday morning and by the end of the day around 7cm of snow lay in the village with more on the top of the mountain.
According to Brad Baker, Mountain Operations Manager, all signs are pointing to another snowy winter at Silver Star, “The fireweed (a local flower) dropped seeds about three weeks early this year. Mother Nature is telling us that we are in for a fantastic snow season.”
Baker says, "This significant snowfall just adds to the excitement the Silver Star team has for the winter ahead."
General Manager, Michael Sherwood, says that at Silver Star, skiing and riding is as much about the quality of snow and variety of terrain as it is about the overall holiday experience.
Silver Star Mountain Resort opens for the winter season on Thursday, November 29, 2012. Nordic skiing is scheduled to open in early-November.
