Peachland residents ordered out of their homes as a result of the Trepanier wildfire are urged to register at one of two reception centres being set up.

Emergency Support Services have set up reception centres in the Summerland Arena and Curling Club at 8820 Jubilee Road East as well as the Lions Hall on Main Street in Westbank.

People in the following areas should report to Summerland to register:

  • 1st Avenue
  • 2nd Avenue
  • 3rd Avenue
  • 4th Avenue
  • 6thAvenue
  • 7th Avenue
  • Clements Crescent
  • Pincushion Place
  • Ponderosa Drive
  • Ponderosa Place

All other evacuees should register at the Lions Hall.

ESS officials say 950 people should be registering at the Lions Hall. So far, only about 200 families have shown up.

For those who have decided to stay with friends or family, you are urged to still go to the registration centre and sign up.

Meantime, ESS officials would also like to thank everyone who have shown up to the registration centre with offers of goods or services, however, at this time, no items are required.
