Canada's flag bearer at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London is coming home with a silver medal.

Kelowna's Garett Hickling helped lead Canada's squad into the gold medal game before falling 66-51 to Australia in the final event of the games.

Canada edged the United States 50-49 in yesterday's semi-final.

The silver lifts Canada's final medal count at these games to 31 including seven gold, 15 silver and nine bronze.

China was the runaway winner with a staggering 231 medals including 95 gold. China's gold medal count alone is better than the complete total won by all but two other countries.

Great Britain won 120 medals overall and Russia won 102.
