The heat is on

There's no reason to put away the beach umbrellas and floaties yet, as warm weather is expected to last through the weekend and into next week in the Okanagan.

Environment Canada is calling for a high of 30C on Saturday with temperatures in the 20's, through next Thursday.

The only day when clouds may move in is Monday.

People sunbathing and swimming at Skaha Lake beach Friday had nothing to complain about.

"I love summers in the Okanagan, they are much nicer than on the coast, and I am hoping this lasts until the end of October," said Eleanor Page, who was visiting from Keremeos.

Jennifer King of Naramata shared that sentiment as she sat watching family members play with ducks at the beach.

"June and July were awful, so we deserve this," she said. "September often has nice weather here, clear and crisp, but still hot."
