For the second time this season, Okanagan Sun defensive end, Steven Doege, has been named BCFC Defensive Player of the Week.

The 21-year-old Rutland Senior grad officially recorded 1.5 sacks in the Sun 34-3 loss in Langley Saturday night giving him six on the season and a CJFL record 37.5 over his career.

The previous record of 36.5 was established by Dave Solie of the Saskatoon Hilltops in 1989.

Doege also had three solo tackles during the game.

The Westshore Rebels swept the other two weekly awards.

Running back Greg Morris took offensive honours, rushing the ball 12 times for 260 yards and three touchdowns, including an 85 yard ramble.

Morris also had a four yard touchdown catch.

Kicker Quinn Van Gylswyk is the Special Teams Player of the Week kicking a pair of field goals and seven converts.

All this in the Rebels 58-0 thumping of Chilliwack.
