Masking dictatorship

To the editor:

Re: BC health care workers to get flu shot.

The government is dictating to all health care workers that they must get a flu shot each year or else they must wear a mask at work during flu season.

The mask must be worn at all times from December to March when in public areas of the hospital.

This is not just if the worker suspects they have a cold, it applies even when the worker is in good health.

There are no other options.

If you can not take a flu shot because of allergies, then you must always wear a mask at work. Even if you have refused a flu shot in the past and never been sick with the flu you still must wear a mask.

The government is taking away people's choice in this matter.

Have you ever had to wear a mask for 8-12 hours? It is not comfortable at all.

Perhaps all visitors to the hospital should also wear masks to keep the flu at bay? Where does this stop?
