Power off in Bernard-Lawrence area
FortisBC confirms power is out to several customers in the area of Bernard, Lawrence and Lakeview avenues.
Company officials say there is no indication as to why the power went off or how long it will be out.
One resident in the area of Bernard and Burtch says her power went out about 8 a.m. Monday morning and has since been restored.
She says a squirrel may have caused a transformer to blow.
This is the third power outage in the Central Okanagan in less than 48 hours.
Power was knocked out to about 2,400 customers in Kelowna Saturday night and into Sunday morning. Power was out for eight hours.
Sunday afternoon, a transformer blew on Old Okanagan Highway in West Kelowna, taking down power to over 2,500 customers. The outage lasted about three hours.
