Kelowna is launching its first Movies under the Stars series at the end of August.
"Drive-in theatres used to be the thing to do in the summer, so to end this Okanagan summer we developed a free program that brings the theatre to the park," says Louise Roberts-Taylor, community and neighbourhood programs manager.
Movie goers are encouraged to bring their own water bottles and snacks as there are no concession stands within the parks.
Movies start at 8:15 p.m.
First on tap is "Happy Feet 2 on Aug, 27 at the Kettle Valley Sports Fields, followed by "We Bought a Zoo" on Aug. 28 at Mission Sports Fields. Other movies will be shown the same week.
