To the editor:
To all motorcycle and car drivers:
It’s summer, which means an increase in motorcycles on the road. Therefore, it is both our responsibility to keep this front of mind.
Over the past three weeks, there have been five motorcycle accidents resulting in three fatalities, two life changing injuries, and one non-life threatening injury.
Please take the time to drive and ride properly.
Pay attention.
As a motorcycle rider (and I am one), it is our responsibility to ‘case out’ the road ahead at all times. It is our responsibility to go the speed limit.
It is our responsibility to drive responsibly and it is our responsibility to respect the laws of the road and to have our eyes and ears open at all times.
As a driver (and I am one), it is our responsibility to look for motorcycles. Check your side mirrors every 12-20 seconds when making lane changes, turning, etc. It is our responsibility to go the speed limit.
There are more motorcycle riders our there than ever – so please share the road. Enough of the front page headlines.
