Letters to the editor

Police priorities out of step

To the editor:

Do I just not understand?

Over and over I read that one city council after another has suggested that marijuana be de-criminalized.

Those same city councils, on behalf of the taxpayers, are paying very significant policing costs that go up each and every year.

I have never yet, in 40 plus years of life, heard the RCMP say they are adequately funded.

Yet the RCMP continues to make it a priority to shut down grow operations. They seem to be dedicated to failing to meet the needs or wishes of the very people that pay for them.
