Tell a friend to stop speeding |

To the editor:
Re: Speed limits not a guideline
If the peers of these people would stand up and tell them how stupid they are for speeding, running lights, drinking and driving.
If their peers are in the car, see them on the road or hear about what they did and speak to them about how dumb they are, that they are going to hurt someone, maybe themselves.
For all the education that is imparted on us, we as a society are still dumb enough to believe that it won’t happen to me, I am including myself in this.
Here are a number of questions that people need to ask:
Is losing your license going to affect your ability to work? Is putting your friend/relative in a wheelchair worth running that light, exceeding the speed limit or answering that phone call?
With the influence of our friends we can change the world and make it a better place. What if tomorrow for just one hour, everyone decided to obey all the traffic laws, if we can do it for an hour how about we work on getting it to half a day, then a full day and then a week and then who knows.
If this were to actually happen just think how much time it would free up for the police to do other things, maybe if this was to continue into other parts of our lives we could lower our taxes because the police would have nothing to do and some of them would need to be moved to other jurisdictions.
