Parking pains

To the editor:

Parking in Kelowna is a huge problem.

I just read the news article about parking at KGH and I think the problem is widespread.

I work on Tutt Street and the parking is at a minimum, yet there are a number of spots along the Raymer School yard.

These parking spots are full when I come to work in the morning around 8:30 and most of those same cars are there when I leave at 3:00 so it's hardly obvious that it is not shoppers or customers or patients (for the medical buildings on Tutt).

My guess would be the employers and employees that work on and around Tutt.  At first I thought it was the teachers but they have their own parking and school is out for the summer and those spots are still full.

There is no 2 hour parking in that area, which I think would alleviate some of the problem, even with some movement from spot to spot.

The City needs to take a harder look at parking at all areas of Kelowna but keep in mind most of us hard workers can not afford to pay extra each month for parking, some free park and walk lots, I'm sure, would be appreciated.
