Laying It On the Line
Jul 6, 2012 / 7:00 am

Making headlines all over the globe, the release of Triumph’s reunion in 2008 is ‘Laying It On The Line’!! The group performed at SwedenRock, showing everyone assembled that they still have what it takes. Now, the rest of the world can see just that!
The double CD/DVD package of this reunion will be released world-wide on August 24th/2012. Triumph’s own label: TML in Canada, ADA in the United States, and the powerful Frontiers Records for the rest of the world.
In an earlier piece I authored, I likened Triumph to Grand Funk Railroad: “Continuing to build their audiences, and becoming the ‘peoples’ band, very much like Grand Funk Railroad, before them. The group were not really liked by the ‘critics’ of the day, they didn’t get the recognition they so very much deserved, however it seems they didn’t really care either…as the audiences liked them and that was the most important thing anyway!”
Of course as the group continued on in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, they set attendance records all over Canada, and became a staple on the FM Radio-waves. As far as ‘critics’, they had to succumb to the juggernaut that was Canada’s Triumph!
The reunion of Triumph was not just a ‘one-off’, as they played select shows throughout 2008, outside of Sweden. Rumours still persist that the group will commence a full blown reunion tour, however no firm dates have been confirmed, so this new release is a ‘must have’, as we may not see the Original members on stage again.
Triumph: “Live At Sweden Rock Festival-2008”, once again laying it on the line!

Kelowna’s own “Fields Of Green” have been busy, just finishing their second album and getting back on stage again. These four musical harvesters performed in Surrey on July 1st, and at 99.3 The Fox’s July 4th Showcase!
The group will return to Kelowna with a July 6th date at The Habitat, with three appearances planned for August: August 3rd @ Kerry Park (Park’s Alive Indie Showcase), Kelowna’s Downtown Block Party on August 11th and another Park’s Alive Showcase on August 26th!
Keep an eagle eye out for their new album, which is just around the corner!
