Fire displaces two families
Two Lake Country families are in the care of Emergency Social Services after a fire forced them out of their home early Thursday morning.
Lake Country Fire Chief, Steve Windsor, says a call came in about 2:30 a.m. for a report of smoke coming from a home in the 10000 block of Quail Road.
Windsor says crews encountered smoke in both the top unit and a basement suite within the residence.
Everyone inside the home, including three children, were able to escape the home unharmed.
Windsor says an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. The fire is not considered suspicious.
A damage estimate is not available.
