Swansea Point evacuation order lifted

The evacuation order, issued by the Columbia Shuswap Regional District on June 23 to all occupied dwellings in the Swansea Point Subdivision area of Electoral Area 'E' has been rescinded.
This is for areas west of Highway 97A including:
- Swansea Beach
- Worden
- Swansea Point
- Swanshore
- Swan Lake
- Cambridge
- Swanson
- Windsor
- Oxford
- Eton
- Canterbury Roads
- Swanshore Place
Residents within the rescinded evacuation order area are permitted to return to their properties but remain on evacuation alert and must be prepared to evacuate at short notice if required.
Residents can now travel and check in to the access into Swansea Point which will be from the south through Grindrod.
RCMP will be distributing packages to residents at the access point with information as to what to do upon arriving at your home.

The evacuation order is still in effect for residents of the Two Mile area.
Evacuees will be provided an extension for accommodations, food and other requirements.
Residents are asked to report to the Sicamous Seniors Reception Centre to complete extension forms.
If you are unable to report to the reception centre and have not previously been contacted by the Emergency Social Services team, please contact 250-833-3350 as soon as possible to ensure your accommodations are extended for tomorrow (Wednesday).
