A mountain of delays

To the editor:

RE: Kelowna Mountain:

I am very disappointed to see the delay in approval for the Kelowna Mountain project.

This project will bring millions of dollars in local and international tourism into the city as well as create over 3000 jobs for locals.

Most cities in Canada and the world dream of getting a project like this during dropped on their door step anytime not to mention during these difficult economic times.

Rather than put obstacles in the way of Mr. Consiglio and his Team you should be assisting him to make this project a reality in any way you can.

Personally, I think he should be given the keys to the city for choosing Kelowna for this when he could easily have chosen any city in the world!

I am not associated with the Kelowna Mtn. project in any way but have travelled extensively to over 50 countries and have seen what a benefit and positive economic impact this type of project can bring to a city.

Moreover, I receive constant feedback from our international students about how boring Kelowna is compared with other similar destinations like Vail, Whistler etc. and how far; expensive and inconvenient it is to go skiing, boarding in this city.

The Kelowna Mtn. project will change this (skiing, boarding, rock climbing, mountain biking, cliff walks etc., etc.) as it will be easily accessible from downtown.

I ask for you to approve this project without delay and change KeloYAWNa into a truly world class tourist destination sooner rather than later.
