A pair of Kelowna Rockets were selected in round two of the NHL draft in Pittsburgh Saturday morning.

Colton Sissons and Damon Severson were both selected in the top 60 of the 2012 Draft.

Sissons was chosen 50th overall by the Nashville Predators while Severson was selected 10 picks later at the 60th spot by the New Jersey Devils.

Sissons, a 6-foot-1 forward and the Rockets captain, had 41 points in 58 games last season with the Rockets.

Severson, a 6-foot-2 defenceman, had 37 points in 56 games last season.

Also, centre Ryan Olsen, acquired by Kelowna this off-season, was also drafted, chosen in the sixth round by the Winnipeg Jets.

Olsen, a 6-foot-3 centre, was acquired by Kelowna in an off season trade that saw Shane McColgan and Jessey Astles sent to Saskatoon.

The Rockets say all three players are expected back with the club for the 2012-13 Western Hockey League season.

On Friday, one of the Rockets European import selections was also drafted.

Latvian star Zemgus Girgensons was drafted 14th overall by the Buffalo Sabres.

The Rockets have the CHL rights to Girgensons after Kelowna selected him in the 2011 CHL import draft with the 45th overall selection.

Girgensons was the assistant captain for Team Latvia at the World Junior Hockey Championships last season.

Meanwhile, former Penticton Vees defenseman and current Denver Pioneer, Joey Laleggia was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers, 123rd overall on Saturday.

Laleggia was the second pick in the fifth round and was one of six current and former BCHL players taken in the draft.
