Driver blows 4 times the limit
A 37-year-old man faces impaired driving charges after police received complaints he was driving with a blown tire.
Police say the calls started coming in just before 9 p.m. Thursday.
Reports indicated the vehicle was being driven very erratically and that the driver may have been impaired.
"Two of our officers located the vehicle just as it stopped at the intersection of Kalamalka Lake Road and Highway 6," says RCMP spokesman, Gord Molendyk.
"When the truck was stopped the rim that the tire had blown off was worn flat. There was no longer any grove left that would hold a tire."
Molendyk says the driver showed gross symptoms of intoxication and was arrested for impaired driving.
He was taken to the Vernon RCMP Detachment where he provided breath samples more than four times the legal limit.
Molendyk says the vehicle, a black Ford truck, had been reported twice earlier in the day for possible impaired driving complaints.
The driver is expected to appear in court in August.
