The Walla Walla Sweets sent 18 batters to the plate during a 12 run 2nd inning outburst then hung on for a wild 15-12 win over the Kelowna Falcons in the first of a four game West Coast League set Tuesday night at Elk Stadium.

Alex Bonczyk and Brett Jacobs each drove in three runs during the second inning uprising.

The Falcons didn't go away quietly, scoring singles in the second, third and fifth before hanging up four in the seventh, one more in the eighth and three in the ninth.

Kelowna actually outhit Walla Walla 17-16 as the teams combined for 33 hits and 53 base runners.

Kyle Pearson provided much of the Falcons offence going 3-5 with a pair of home runs, a triple, six runs batted in and three runs scored.

Pearson hit a solo shot in the third, a three run homer in the seventh and a run scoring triple in the ninth.

He now has three home runs in two games.

Patrick Johnson had a pair of hits and drove in two for the Falcons.

Juan Padilla went just 1.1 innings allowing 12 runs on eight hits in suffering the loss.

The Falcons (7-5) look to get back into the win column Wednesday night in game two of the series when they send ace Brandon Marris to the hill.

Marris, the reigning Player of the Week tossed a complete game four hit shutout in his last start Friday. he has yet to allow a run in two starts this season.

Game time is 6:345.
