A former member of the Montreal Expos is leading the charge to bring professional baseball back to the city.
Warren Cromartie says the city could be home to a minor league club and eventually another major league franchise.
Cromartie is in town this weekend along with several other members of a 1981 Expos team that nearly went all the way to the World Series.
The team is honouring another former Expo, Hall of Famer Gary Carter, who died of brain cancer earlier this year.
The players held baseball clinics to raise money for cancer research and drum up support for the sport.
Fans lining up for autographs said some of the bitterness has worn off from the Expos' 2004 departure and they are ready to cheer on another team.
