Penticton RCMP have arrested three people on charges of drug trafficking, including one with an incredibly long list of previous offences.

Cpl. Brad Myhre says that on Wednesday June 6, the Drug Task Force stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Birch Avenue in Penticton.

A search of the three people and their vehicle found an undisclosed quantity of heroin and cocaine, along with associated trafficking paraphernalia.

Two women, a 28 year-old from Penticton and a 50 year-old from West Kelowna, along with a 39 year-old West Kelowna man, were taken into custody.

The two women were later released, but the man faces charges of possession of cocaine and heroin for the purpose of trafficking.

The man was also found to have had a long list of run-ins with police.

He has 40 prior criminal convictions, including several drug trafficking offences, with the most recent coming after an incident in West Kelowna in 2010.
