A grass fire that started Saturday afternoon on Bypass Road in Keremeos continues to burn, but no longer appears to be growing.
Witnesses tell Castanet the fire started just after 4:00 p.m. and appeared to be spreading rapidly.
The Keremeos Fire Department were called to the scene and they enlisted the help of the Kamloops Fire Centre who provided both helicopters and water bombers in an attempt to bring the blaze under control.
As of Sunday morning some flames and smoke were still visible, and witnesses say the water bombers and helicopters were still active and going after hot spots, but the situation looked more stable.
One witness told Castanet that the fire may have started when someone began burning in a field and the wind caused it to spread.

J.T. sent us a video of the fire which shows a helicopter attacking the flames.
