A 29-year-old man, suspected of threatening a clerk with a syringe during the course of a robbery, is in police custody.

RCMP spokesman, Gord Molendyk, says police were called to the Blue Moon Esso on 34 Street just before 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

The clerk told police a man entered the store, stated it was a robbery, threatened her with a syringe and demanded money from the register.

He left on foot.

Officers looked at the video surveillance tapes and, a short time later, took a man matching the suspect's description into custody in the parking lot near Staples.

The suspect was scheduled to appear in court Thursday charged with robbery.
