To the editor:
The thinking of our recent city council really mystifies me, the sheer tunnel vision they all had.
Oliver now is getting the 360 seat prison that will create at least 500 new jobs in that area.
Off of Jim Bailey Road was the last place anyone would have wanted it, but that's the only place city council wanted it.
I'm glad it was shot down at the time but council's lack of planning and foresight again has left Kelowna out in the cold.
There were numerous places away from the population that a facility could have been built and was very suitable for expansion.
I sure hope our new city council is a little more open to other options that could have given our city 500 jobs. |
