It would appear as if a business in West Kelowna is a front for the drug trade.

Police in the municipality shut down a large, sophisticated marijuana grow operation at a business in the 2500 block of Ross Road.

The business was raided January 23 where police discovered over 16 hundred plants along with stolen property.

A 32-year-old man was later arrested in connection with the seizures.

The man faces numerous charges including Production of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000.

Cst. Kris Clark says the investigation is continuing and more charges could still be laid.

The accused has been released on a Promise to Appear in March.
