Homemade Iced Tea

Ingredients:

  • 8 tea bags
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice

Preparation:

Bring a large pot of water to boil (dutch oven size pot). Remove from heat and put in the 8 teabags. Let steep until really dark in color. Pour into a large jug that has the sugar and lemon juice in it. Mix well and refrigerate until cold. This makes 1 gallon of iced tea. Serve with lemon slice.

Note: Do not lessen the amount of sugar. This is the perfect amount for the iced tea. It's not sweet.

This recipe is one that my Mom created years ago and she has since passed away. I continue to make this and have served this at many functions. Its our family favourite summer beverage. This was served at a local restaurant years back.
