Christy Clark is the new leader of the B.C. Liberal Party, and by extension, the new premier of the province.
Clark won on the third ballot during Saturday's voting by party members.
She earned 4,420 points on the final ballot, needing 4,251 to secure the leadership.
Clark beat former cabinet minister Kevin Falcon on the third ballot.
Mike de Jong dropped out of the race on the first ballot.
George Abbott finished third and was dropped from contention after the second ballot.
