Pride Winter Ball cancelled due to lack of ticket sales.

The South Okanagan Similkameen Board has cancelled its Pride Winter Ball due to lack of advance ticket sales.

They even had been set to take place on Feb. 28.

"The event has a hefty cost associated with it and while it is a highly anticipated and enjoyed by all, it has been operated at a loss so we cannot continue to run it in its current configuration," reads a social media announcement from SOS Pride.

"We will be re-examining what it will look like moving forward and hope to be able to come up with something that allows us to serve our community with a low barrier of entry but a similar experience."

Ticket holders will get refunds.
