Grinch makes off with prized guitar

He played his heart out for the benefit of others and was rewarded with the theft of his prize guitar.

On December 20th, a local musician volunteered his time and musical talent to bring some Christmas cheer to the staff and customers at the MCC Thrift Shop on Roxby Rd.

After finishing his set of songs, he put his guitar away in it’s black soft gig bag and walked mere feet away from it to accept a gift from the grateful store staff.

After a moment he returned to find that his guitar had been stolen while his back was turned.

The guitar is distinct in that it has a bright metallic finish on the body and machine head.

It is a Washburn Model AE 16 and is a cutaway acoustic electric 6 string.

Police have, as yet, no witnesses or suspects, and are asking for the public’s help in the investigation.

Please call the Kelowna detachment at 250-762-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 with any information.

To the person who took the guitar, please exercise a bit of goodwill and take the guitar back to the thrift store so it may be returned to its rightful owner.
